Itinerary
Neon shimmers on the river as cable cars glide over bridges and stilted houses cling to cliffs. Stone steps wind through Shibati, where echoes of old Chongqing mix with spice. Between mountain trails and night markets, the city’s vertical rhythm shifts at every turn.
Upon arrival in Chongqing, you will be picked up by our driver at the airport or station and transferred to your hotel for check-in. After settling in, feel free to discover Chongqing on your own, we recommend exploring Jiefangbei, it serves as the heart of Chongqing, bringing together iconic landmarks and local delicacies—an ideal starting point for first-time visitors to experience the city’s unique charm.
For dinner, enjoy a local meal at one of the many restaurants around Jiefangbei Square. Hotpot, Chongqing noodles, and other local dishes are both affordable and delicious.
Afterwards, you can admire Hongya Cave, which looks like a glowing giant castle, built into the hillside and along the river, the area features traditional Diaojiaolou (stilted building), showcasing the original charm and character of old Chongqing.
Then stroll across the Qiansimen Bridge, a pedestrian-friendly landmark offering sweeping views of the Jialing River, illuminated cruise ships, and the glowing façades of Hongya Cave—especially stunning at night.

After breakfast, start your day with a visit to the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum, which offers a concise overview of the region’s history and culture. Key exhibits highlight the Three Gorges landscape, ancient Ba-Yu civilisation, and Chongqing’s wartime role, alongside collections of bronze ware, Han sculptures, and local folk relics.
Right across from the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum stands the Great Hall of People—a striking fusion of traditional Chinese palace architecture and Western structural aesthetics. It’s also one of the spots featured in IShowSpeed’s travel routes.
In the afternoon, explore the Huguang Guild Hall, a sprawling complex of ancestral halls and traditional temples built in the Ming and Qing dynasties. It’s the houses of the Immigration Museum and Plaque Museum, showcasing the cultural roots of Chongqing’s diverse population. The architectural details — including intricate wooden carvings and elegant courtyards — are among the finest examples of southern Chinese guild hall design. Next, visit Longmenhao Old Street. Once home to foreign consulates and bustling merchants during the treaty port era, this area is dotted with historic buildings and quirky art exhibitions. Be sure to stop by the “Mountain City Frame” viewpoint, where you can enjoy stunning vistas of the Yangtze River and Dongshuimen Bridge.
In the evening, ride the iconic Yangtze River Cableway—a symbol of Chongqing’s unique aerial transit system. Suspended high above the river, the cable car offers breathtaking nighttime views of Hongya Cave, Dongshuimen Yangtze River Bridge, and the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers.
Then go to the Jiangbeizui Riverside Park, Here you'll find picturesque riverside walkways, pebble-covered riverbanks. This is also the best spot to take a photo with the Qiansimen Bridge in the background.

Begin your day with a leisurely walk along the Mountain City Trail. A unique pedestrian-only path system that winds through the natural contours of Chongqing’s hillsides. This immersive route passes through centuries of history — from ancient city walls to colonial-era architecture and wartime relics. Include stone stairways, hanging walkways, and hidden courtyards.
Then take a walk to Shibati (Eighteen Steps), once the vital link between Chongqing’s upper and lower towns. The area blends old-style teahouses and folk crafts with interactive installations and artistic displays. Explore themed zones that reflect the local legends.
Then make your way to Liziba Light Rail Station, where the city’s iconic light rail glides straight through a residential building. It's as if the light rail is being swallowed by the building. This surreal sight draws visitors from all over the world — especially photography lovers looking to capture the moment a train zips past midair.
Next, head to Eling Second Factory, a creative cultural park transformed from a former printing facility. Retaining its original industrial structures. This area is filled with artistic energy, offering a platform for creatives to connect and showcase their work. It’s also one of the most popular photo spots in Chongqing. For lunch, we recommend Li Zi Ba Liang Shan Chicken or Dong Zi Hotpot, both of which serve the spicy and flavorful dishes beloved by locals in Chongqing.

On your final day in Chongqing, enjoy some free time before your transfer to the airport.
